Howard Shore, the composer behind The Lord of the Rings , returned to score The Hobbit . The soundtrack incorporates familiar themes like the Shire motif while introducing new dwarven chants, such as the haunting "Misty Mountains" song. This music became an instant fan favorite and perfectly sets the tone for the adventure.
A visually enchanting but uneven start to the trilogy. Fans of Middle‑earth will enjoy it, but it lacks the tight storytelling of The Fellowship of the Ring .
