Super 8 is a 2011 science-fiction adventure film written and directed by J.J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg. Set in 1979, the movie follows a group of young friends in a small Ohio town who are making an amateur Super 8 film when they witness a catastrophic train crash. In the aftermath, strange disappearances and unexplained events begin to plague the town.
