Before the alter egos took over, there was Lootpack. Composed of Madlib, Wildchild, and DJ Romes, the group introduced the world to Madlib’s raw, boom-bap aesthetic.
In 2017, Madlib released , a limited-edition vinyl release that featured music inspired by the sounds of vinyl crackle and hiss. He then collaborated with Daniel Barshon on Tales of Joy (2018), a double album that showcased a more melodic and introspective sound. Madlib Discography
