As Ip Man struggles to protect his community from Ma King-sang's influence, he also finds himself drawn into a personal conflict with a fellow Wing Chun practitioner named Cheung Tin-chi. Cheung is a talented but ambitious martial artist who believes that his style of Wing Chun is superior to Ip Man's. He challenges Ip Man to a duel, hoping to prove his dominance and establish himself as the true heir to the Wing Chun legacy.
