The story fast-forwards to the present, where John is struggling to find a job and live up to his potential. Ted, now a foul-mouthed and hard-drinking teddy bear, is still by John's side, causing chaos and destruction wherever they go. When John's girlfriend, Lori (played by Mila Kunis), enters the picture, Ted becomes jealous and tries to sabotage their relationship.
